After suffering from terrible scams aimed at Independent Authors, Sami and Kat were determined to be the change the publishing world needed.

 

As a new Author in the publishing space Katerina fell victim to an editing scam where the company held her manuscripts hostage. They demanded more and more money as time went on with no results towards the service she initally payed for. If she didn't pay? They would publish Her work as their own.

Trying to navigate between Traditional Publishing and Self-Publishing, Samantha almost fell victim to another common scam. What she thought was a publishing house willing to publish her book, turned out to be a Vanity Publisher. Asking for $30,000 in fees just to get started on marketing and distribution of her book. She would do all the work, and the company would slap their name on it. Taking all the credit.

After successfully independently publishing they were faced with another crushing blow. Royalities. The big corporate companies take the majority of Royalities from sales. Often leaving the authors with mere pennies for their hard work.

Fed up with the current state of the Publishing world, running rampant with toxicity and scams, they came up with an idea to make a Real Difference. For as many authors as possible. By offering affordable, quality services through an author services program they could fund the printing and distribution of fellow author's work. Letting them keep the Royalities they rightfully deserve.

Together with four of their author friends, they formed an all women owned and operated publishing house. Indie Forge. Together we will bring the amazing worlds and stories of our fellow authors to readers all over the world. Through both traditional and self-publishing.
